Online presentations of the “Mardi de l’AFTES”, December 3, 2024, in Lyon

A look back at the “Mardi de l’AFTES” conference in Lyon, December 3, 2024: an evening rich in discussions and expertise.

Organized by the French Association of Tunnels and Underground Space (AFTES) and specifically by Gérard Labrit, Southeast Delegate, this conference brought together more than 50 participants who came to explore large-scale projects and exchange ideas on the technical and innovative challenges of the sector.

Two exciting presentations were on the agenda, each led by experts recognized in their respective fields:

• Presentation of the West Lyon Tramway Express (TEOL) project – Sarah EMMELIN, Project Manager; Geoffrey Dufour, Project Director; Sonia Turmel, Project Engineer (Sytral)
• Review of the design-build challenge for the 9 tunnels of the UAE’s railway network extension – José GONZALEZ DEL TANAGO CHANRAI (Systra)

The AFTES Tuesday Conference once again demonstrated the importance of such events in fostering exchanges among stakeholders in the infrastructure sector.

AFTES continues to play a key role in promoting expertise and know-how in the field of underground works.
