On December 30, the 14.4 km long Ryfylke tunnel between Solbakk in Strand and Hundvaag in Stavanger, Norway, was opened.
It is the longest and deepest underwater road tunnel in the world, built 292 m below sea level at its deepest point.
The Rv 13 Ryfast project also includes the Hundvaag (5.5 km) and Eiganes (3.5 km) underwater tunnels, which will open next February.
Excavation of the Ryfylke tunnel began six years ago in August 2013.
